so my rear window wont roll down on the passenger side
OK, I am having the same problem (with the same window) and had a couple of questions. Is there a possibility that a connection of some sort came loose and that is all that is wrong? Or should I just order a new motor?
have you done speakers or have you had any reason to remove the door? if the switch on that door isn't fully connected you won't be able to operate it from the driver controls or that door. Another possibility is that there's an issue with the switch?
Nope. No speakers (yet), did not have the panel off and my window tint was done well over a year ago. One day it just would not go down. It never showed any signs of slowing down or dying... just stopped working. So, there are a couple of connections I should look at. Thanks! I hope that is all that I need to do. I would much rather spend the money on something else for the box.
I've done a ton of wiring, including cathodes in that door. I haven't taken it apart to look at it since it's working right now. When it stops working, it doesn't even work from the switch on that door. It's not just my switch up front.
I had the same problem and stopped at my dealer for them to check it to see if it was something that would be covered under warranty. They told me the bolt that holds the motor to the door frame was loose and it made it lock up in the up position. They said they have seen similar problems from some other 1st gens and that it has been locked in the up position and the down position but mainly the up position. they pulled the bolt out, put locktite on it and I haven"t had any issus in over a year. Might be worth checking.
