Default Someone ripped off my side mirror

It is now hanging on the side of my car. Does anyone know how to take off the side mirror. I do not want to drive around with the mirror smacking on the side of my car. I do not know how to detach the wires because they run into the mirror. Besides cutting the wires is there a way?

Yes. . . see the small speaker/tweeter on the front edge of the door, attached to that wedge of platic? Pull the whole plastic wedge off (it takes a bit of force, if you aren't used to pulling trim pieces off cars). It's held in by clips, so don't worry. You'll see a wire harness (plug). Unplug the wires harness, and there should be some bolts (I believe three) that hold the sideview mirror on. If the mirror is still somewhat attached, you'll have to undo those bolts to get it off (and this is how you'll attach a new one, should you decide to save money and reinstall it yourself).

Make sure to tape up the hole real well, to make sure that no water leaks in, for the mean time.

I was able to get off the plastic wedge piece by the tweeter, but the wire harness is not at the point. Taking off this piece did however allow me easier access to pull my door panel off. The wire harness is located next to the tweeter wire harness. Any ways I was able to take my mirror off. Thank you for your help.

oops. . . I'm mixing up cars! That's right; it's a little lower. Sorry for the confusion.
