Default Squeaky Door Hinges?

My xB just in the last couple days has been giving me Squeaky Door Syndrome. It's a 2006, only 2 years old and the driver's side door squeaks whenever I open it and close it, and today the back hatch started doing it too.

Is this common? Can I just spray some WD-40 into the hinges or something else? I find it odd that only after 2 years they start to squeak.

WD 40 will do just fine. Also, not only should you lube the hinges, you should also lube the door check. You obviously have to wash the car and you probably drive in the elements and you've never lubed them and then you wonder why they squeak?. They should be maintained like every other item on the car.
Btw, if the rear hatch squeaks, you might need to replace the hatch struts?

get some white lithium greese, spray the hinges, top and bottom, and the connecting rod that goes between the door and the jamb, that little stop that keeps it from opening too far

Wd40 is temporary and will evaporate. Try pressing a dab some bearing grease into the hinge and wiping off the excess. That way it will last and not attract all sorts of dirt and junk.

White luthium grease is the proper lubricant to use. It has a very high drip temperature of 190C, and it resists moisture.
