Biggest influence: I am 6'6" and I fit in it with some head room to spare; and who can pass up the looks of it.

I "went all out" with the accessories, plus more to come.

Anything Else: I have my own house, moved out of my parents when I was 18, work in the oilfield, and love riding four-wheelers.

(It sounds like I am signing up for a dating service or something, I like long walks on the beach, candle-lit dinners.... ha ha )

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I'm 6'4" and I like to wear hats and that was my first impression on getting inside the xB on the showroom floor -- "WOW! HAT ROOM!!" The last car I was in that had that much hatroom was a friend's '53 Cadillac . . . .

Still Crazy After All These Years........
Why drive something that looks like everything else on the road?

Some modifications--but keeping it clean
Baby Boomer generation--Where did all the years go?
Still questioning authority....
Good luck on your project.

What was the biggest factor in you buying the xB:

the look!! I was buying my first brand new car, I did a lot or looking around and when I saw the xB I knew what I was getting.

Did you keep your xB simple or go all out with accessories:

I got the leather and sunroof from the dealer, but everything else I did myself:

intake
header
exhaust
lowering springs
shocks
struts
cathodes inside and out
front lip
complete stereo overhaul
grilles
wheels & tires
climate control color change
pedals
carbon fiber interior and exterior overlays
cruise control
perrin crank pulley

I will never be able to get out the money and time I have put into it, but I can't imagine getting rid of it either.

Sex: when ever I can (Male)

What was the biggest factor in you buying the xB: I'd been eyballing the Scions before they were ever available in my area. They just "felt" like me. A little different than every other friggen car on the road, good gas milage, nice standard features for the cost, and after a test drive I just fell in love with it. Fun to drive!

Did you keep your xB simple or go all out with accessories: Right now it's all stock other than the fact I bought floor mats for it. Cannot afford to pimp it out, but I've always been atracted to the more simple look/feel. Will get snappier rims for it when I can afford it.

add anything else you'd like...
had it a year already and like it more every day!

Bought used with only a few options from dealer/factory: Wing, alarm, automatic, I added lowering springs.

I have to include things on social class, family and subcultures,
Married, no kids; latino; government worker; middle class; vp of my local union

Wow; a CLASSIC (and the car sounds pretty cool too ;^) My first vehicle was a '54 IH 3/4-ton pickup and the first car was a '65 Ford Cortina wagon.

What was the biggest factor in you buying the xB: Needed a reliable car that was cheap, roomy, and cool.

Did you keep your xB simple or go all out with accessories: Will keep it simple with a few choice mods. I will keep the big mods on my VWs and BMWs because that's where my passion is.

add anything else you'd like... Saw the xB first at the Washington Auto Show in January 2004. I loved it immediately. Since then it seemed like everyone with an xB had big cheesy wheels, loud fart can exhausts, neons and strobes, fast and furious style. Everything I hate, so I didn't think about the car much. Flash forward to November 2005. 2 friends with VWs bought xBs as daily drivers and I started looking in to them again. January 2006 went to Scion of Waldorf, test drove one, loved it. Was impressed by the room, gas mileage, and suspension feel. Looked through the 8 or so xBs on the lot and decided on BSP because it is very close to my favorite VW color, Black Magic Pearl.

My first vehicle was a '54 IH 3/4-ton pickup and the first car was a '65 Ford Cortina wagon.
'52 IH 1/2-ton pickup L-110 was my first vehicle. It had a SD-220 (Overhead valve) 90HP 10 MPG My Grandpa Gave it to me when I was 13 and my great-uncle bought it new and had given it to grandpa.
Other Vehicles
62 Mercedes 190D first car then 64 190D for parts--headache
'31 Model AA Truck Got it from my other Grandpa and he got it from his uncle in 1944.
74 Rolls Silver Shadow Just got rid of it. With kids don't have time to tinker
76 Datsun B210-that was a cheap econmy car engine died at 130,000
81 Honda Civic 250,000 miles died after good service life
87 Accord 250,000 and going
91 Toyota Pickup 120,000 and going
02 Forester - Traded for Suburban
03 Accord - Traded for Scion
04 Camry
04 Suburban--For a huge vehicle as it is the gas mileage isn't that bad with the 5.3 and with volant intake and exhaust 15-16 in town and 20 on trip. It is over twice the weight of the Scion and 3.5 times engine size.
05 Scion Great get around car gas mileage is similar to the 81 Honda (at least in town not as good on freeway) You would think after 25 years technology would improve some with mileage rather than just horsepower. They both had 1.5 liter. The Honda had a 3 barrell carb and two valves per cylinder wtih 67 HP. Honda used that engine for years it went to 76HP with 3 valves per cylinder then 90 HP with Fuel injection then 105+/- with four valves per cylinder.
But the Scion has so much more room. The only one with more headroom would be the 52 international.
