Trading in a Auto Trans for a Manual Trans?
I have a scion xB that I bought back in April. It has approximately 3,100 miles on it and it is an auto transmission and I was wondering if it would be possible to trade it in for a 5 speed manual transmission. Does anyone know if it is possible and how I would go about doing that?

Someone just traded in their stick TC for an auto one at the dealer. The person had less than 500 miles on their car tho. Maybe even less than 100. The dealer paid car face value minus options on the car, but allowed the person to transfer removable options from the stick to the new auto TC.
There were forms and taxes and the cost of the auto. I think it ended up being about 3 or 4 thousand to get the car they wanted.
You have 2 ways you can do it. Take it to a dealer and get what the dealer will pay or sell your car yourself. Either way, it won't be an even trade unless you got some options that make up for the milage on your car.
Maybe you can find someone that's not happy with a stick shift lol.

Stay with the automatic.
You will get burned hard core trading a car in or selling it so early.
Sorry.
Look at it this way, you won't miss the manual when you are driving in stop and go traffic, right?

If i were you, while the market is still hot on our xB's- is this:
Sell your auto xB Private part,, and ask right at what you paid for it.
take whatever cash you have from that and buy a MT xB.
If you want it that bad- YOU CAN DO IT!!- a toyota dealer in my town (does not sell Scion) is asking $17,999 for a 2004 auto xB with 20,000K ! No options!(BTW it had rock chips all over it and th BSP paint was scratched ALL OVER, and it had yellow tint!)
thier is hope, having a MT xB is WAY WORTH IT!
