Transmission Poll: Manual vs Automatic
no hills in FL so that should make it easier lol. Yea after a month or so i'd prolly get used to it. so if i'm at a stop light i put in 1st and hole the clutch & brake until it's time to go right? thanks. also, say i'm in a parking lot, if it's in 1st can i idle around without giving it any gas, like if it's in 1st and all none of the peddle's are pressed, it will idle around and not stall right?

lol thanks, is it recommended to upgrade the clutch? as soon as i get it i'm putting on 15" rotaC8 12lbs~ and tanabe df210. i'm debating on putting my used ___ weaponR SR intake on it too. but i do plan to get a nice CAI and cat-back strup set up. changing the clutch is a good idea? and whats the deal with short shifters? thanks
the clutches in these cars blow. short shifter make u happier that u spent the money rather than leaving stock. shorter throws . shorter overall height. so on and so forth
Hi all..
I jumped on the only xB available in my area as soon as I saw it. I'd not driven a manual since I was 16, needless to say I was terrified but after a quick lesson and one great peel out on a hill later, I was sold. Don't think I'll ever own an automatic ever again!!

Manual. Since im 14, Id rather have a slightly zippier manual car, then a SLOOOWWW auto. I drove my cousins 2K3 auto Civic (~130hp) and that crap was SLOW. I dont wanna even try that with a car having 108 hp. Oh, and its good practice for me since I want more performance oriented cars in the future.
manual. as soon as I noticed that the 5-speezie got LESS mpg than the auto i knew automatically it would be the MANUAL hands down. Figger it out yourself. :D
And for all y'all that can't eat and chew gum at the same time, my heart goes out. I, however, can multi-task, and that goes way beyond a big gulp and a stick shift

Got the 5spd manual. Test drove it and the 4sp auto, which just didn't test well with me. I learned on a VW Beetle (not the New one, a 73 vintage instead) many years ago. So, I've always had a sweet spot for doing the shiftin myself. Like they say if you keep the revs high (max torque is about 4500) then it's the best!
