Now the dealership is trying to tell me I can no longer order this part as Toyota
doesn't make it any more (Toyota never made it to begin with). They have offered
to put a TRD muffler in it's place. That will not do.

^^^^That sucks....I have been waiting for my exhaust to come in for over 3 weeks now...they are telling me that since ii is a Special Release piece of equipment, they are harder to come by...I guess they guard the RS stuff...

That's OK. Get the Strup V2.0 instead. It won't fall to pieces and looks/sounds way better than the TRD.

That's wishful thinking. I want them to do a recal and replace ours with another brand
that is badged just like what we have.

Maybe you could have the welds checked and reinforced if necessary.

Another potential problem to come for these sort of problems could be the end of aftermarket parts use on the release series cars.

AEM/DC still lists the sports exhaust for the xB---$335. That should be just like ours without the badge........

That price is really high. I got my DC Sports exhaust for 250 dollars.

OK, here’s the finale. The dealership finally called me back and said that they were
able find me the correct DC exhaust. The call I made to Scion Corp resulted in them
discovering a flaw in the parts software that incorrectly listed RS parts as not in production.
They said they would fix it and apologized for my trouble. The Exhaust is now on the
car and everything is back to normal. The whole thing has left me a little bit angry. If I
was not as knowledgeable and aggressive about my car I would have been stuck with
whatever bulls**t lie the dealer could make up. How much damage do these dealerships
cause to the Scion reputation because their staff are indifferent at best towards customer
service and doing the job right. They obviously thought I was just another dupe and they
could do the least possible. They put a TRD exhaust on my car temporarily while the DC
was being shipped. I offered to pay their cost for the wasted part and they told me their
cost was $320. TRD sparks sells them every day for that price. They must think consumers
are stupid.

You hit the nail squarely on the head. Stealerships bank on the fact that the public in general is Stupid. Sad if you think about it too long.

Mine fell off at 17000 with auto. Talked to delership and was told because the car was dropped, not with trd springs they would'nt do ____. After talking to DC for 3 weeks they gave me a choice. Send them the whole exhaust and be without a car. Or they would send me a new tip. I will never get anything from DC!
