Default Universal brake lube?

Picked up a good set of front disc brakes for my 05- XB. In the box came a plastic see through tube with some white lube. BUT, the box comes with zero instructions. I know how to put the brakes on and bleed them, but where exactly do I apply the brake lube to and where at? I didn't want to assume so I figured I would ask first.

Thanks all.

I think you squeeze a bit of that stuff between the back of the pad (the metal part) and the first (No. 1) anti-squeal shim--the one next to the back of the pad. It keeps the pads from squealing.

from the manual:

29. INSTALL ANTI SQUEAL SHIM KIT FRONT
(a) Apply disc brake grease to both sides of each anti squeal
shim No.1.
(b) Install the anti squeal shims on each pad.
Cheers,
MD

The lube is for all the spots where the caliper slides. The idea behind the shim is to prevent the vibes and hense the noise. The pads should be installed dry with no lube on the backsides. It will contaminate the pads and rotors eventually.

When installing brake pads it is ideal to use an anti sieze lubricant on the back of the pad between the shim and the pad. This prevents noises such as popping, squealing. It does not contaminant the pad.
