On one of the Cannonball style runs that the Teckademics crew was on, a BMW M Coupe proceded to attempt to pass a tractor trailer on the shoulder. The rig driver, then snapped the rip against the BMW, sending them into the woods.

Yes there are ignorant tractor trailer drivers, but there are a lot more ignorant SUV drivers. People who like to tailgate so they can't be seen, or cut right infront of the cab. Fault is shared on both sides.

Glad you got covered. I have to drive every day through Irwindale here in Los Angeles. It is literally a hugh gravel pit. There are trucks going both ways most of the day. They are supposed to be covered--but never are. It is like running the gauntlet.

or perhaps it could be the speed demons from ga that insist on running 85+ in a 70 or even better 70+ on a two lane back country road with no street lights.

Drive defensively. You can say the truckers are out to get you. You can say the cops are out to get you. You can say the SUVs are out to get you.

I prefer to think EVERYONE is out to get me.

I'd like to think I'm an innocent angel who has a halo over his hood, but the fact is, I am just as guilty as the dump truck guy from above:

When I am in the Crown Vic, I drive like mean people are chasing me.

When I am in the xB, I'm a little more careful... alot more careful. The box is for when I'm not in a hurry, or not listening to Guns & Roses. Strange phenomena I've noticed... if you're in an xB, for every person who waves and likes it, for some reason there's 3 maniacs who want nothing more than to kill you.

When I'm on the bike, then I'm an angel... unless no one is around.

I guess I'm saying size matters. More pedestrians get hit because somebody told them they have the right of way over cars. And by law, they do... but... it makes no sense. Suppose the fat kid cut in front of you in the lunch line and took the last pop tart... you gonna mess with him? Hell no... you might be Johnny Badass, but that guy never lost a pop tart in his life.

YourNameHere, I realize you were within your rights to do what you did, but you're lucky the truck driver was not COMPLETELY psycho. People will be as dumb as physics allows them to be, and a dude in a dump truck, or Mandy the soccer mom in her Suburban, both have alot more physics on their side than me and you in the short hearse.

I couldn't get the images to show so here is the link:

There are about 10 more paint chips, 3 dents, damage to the grille, and gashes in the underspoiler. Toyota estimate: $2303

The adjuster for Allied/Nationwide agreed in full with the estimate from the Certified Toyota Body Shop! Woo-Hoo!

While they have it apart I will replace the grill directly under the hood with the one with the bigger opening and fog lights.

Default Finally !!!

My ride is finally getting fixed. They got the parts in the other day, so I dropped it off at Butler Toyota/Scion in Macon, GA. They are a Toyota Certified Collision Center, so I guess everything will be ok.

that particular truck driver was a and I don't care if he was bringing me something I bought or not!
