I work at home so I'm seldom out in rush hour traffic. But I had to go to a meeting today. As traffic was creeping along (how do these people do this every damn day?) I heard a horn toot next to me. I looked over and saw a guy in a junker Mazda enthusiastically pointing at my xB and giving me the thumbs up sign. OK, dude. Glad to make your commute exciting. I imagine the box looked extra small since I was sandwiched between two semis.

Funny how that happens just about as much as when they point and laugh. Lots of looks, good or bad, these boxes generate.

 

I have yet to see someone point and laugh, but that might have something to do with the gun rack on my roof. I'm not sure.

once, in front of wal mart this little 6-7 year old kid saw it and started jumping up and down going "look mommy there it is that's it"...whether he was impressed or not i couldn't tell, seemed really happy though...

 

Isn't that the best feeling?! I get that constantly with the bug - even moreso when i have the kayak strapped to it. :D

 

the peapod delivery guy, who was in his late 50s early 60s said it was god awful ugly this morning, my mom told him she agreed but it was the only thing her son fit in....nice people eh lol. good or bad i love the buzz it generates

 

I used to think that my Bug would be the only car to get this response. But the Box gets more.

Maybe everyone is used to the Bug by now.

 

I drove my box up to tahoe today and people were lookin at me like I was nuts for drivin some funny lil exhaust toting , lowered box car around on the snow covered roads. it was fun. lol

 

Leaving the dealership form having the oil changed, two toothless nubiles "woohooed" my box. Then, they saw my 40 yr. old a$$, and suddenly got quiet. I heart my box.

 

I had an entire school bus of elementary school kids stick their heads out the window and waving and screaming, "It's a Scion! Hi, Mr. Scion Man!"

 

I was at a friend's house and his nephews(5 & 9) were over to see him. The 5 year old told me "Man your car is tight! I like it." and then the 9 year old said "It's just a stupid car shaped like a box with a motor, 4 wheels, and a steering wheel." That's when I said "It's better than what you have" and I punched him in the throat and kicked him into the TV.

Homie don't play that.

You should have seen it when it happened. The sound his head made when it bounced off the glass was priceless. I wish I could set it as my ringtone on my cell.
