doesn't make me love my box any less. if i cared what people actually thought i woulda kept my alero.

the xB helps me express my unique personality, just like they do with other xB owners. we don't fear the unconventional, we embrace it.

 

They can say what they want...I simply wave a $20 bill in their face and tell them that I fill up on this and have a 300 mile range...

 

There will alway be people that will try to rain on our parade. Mostly I think they are just jealous that our boxes garner so much attention. If someone calls my box ugly, they just told me they have no sense of style and they are not worth convincing otherwise. OH Well

 

Screw what those conforming idiots say. They are just jealous that they dont have the coolest car on the road.

Really that whole web site is lame. Cmon they had the Chrysler 300, the new Magnum, and a BMW 5series on the list of ugly car's. These people are a joke.

I always say that everyone has a right to their own opinion, it's not gonna make me want to stop owning an xB because some dillweed thinks it looks like a clown car. Not everyone has a sense of style and quirkiness like the xB owners. Ha-ha!!

This comes from a car that has plastic panels for headlights...

 

I got the car due to its uniqueness, and love it for that, but I am starting to get really sick of people ******* it. I did not buy it for its horsepower. If I was interested in that, I would have gotten a different car. I used to deal with the negative comments, but I am starting to get ____ed at these people, and b1tched a guy out (who drives an H2, of all things) recently. I can only take so much.

 

I don't think the H2 drivers are particularly deep thinkers. Most of them buy their oversize rigs to make an impression and when they find out that an xB makes a bigger impression in a much smaller, less expensive, more environmentally friendly way, the H2 folks feel just a bit dumb for wasting big bucks on a vehicle that is frankly offensive. They're just taking out their frustrations on you. If you think you get negative remarks about your xB, they're few in comparison to the number that most H2 drivers get (at least in Washington state). I think vehicles like the xB and Prius represent the future. Sometimes being a bit ahead of the curve requires a bit of courage. I salute Toyota and I salute the drivers who are willing to put up with a few negatives to make a positive statement with these great cars. Don't give in!

lol all the comments are funny honestly. *grins* i dont have to defend my baby, she knows i love her. x BEEP BEEP!! we (my xB and i) ride with the music LOUD and if you cant hear it, im sure you can feeeel our good vibrations...we sing and make CRAZAY faces and people KNOW they cant help but crack a smile when they see us dancing in our seats at 8 in the morning regardless of what they really think about my actual xB, and you SURE cant ignore us if we x BEEP BEEP at you....unless you cut us off and are trying to ignore us cause you KNOW you're guilty...*grins* i'm an xB owner. im guilty of loving my xB more and more each day. (i know that whole spill was REEETARDED lol but its 100% true)

 

Almost forgot. Article today in the Wall Street Journal about car design. Every car company wants a hot design because they know it sells cars. Guess what? The xB design was singled out as a design that goes against the grain of what's considered popular and proper design, but it's the reason the xB is a hit. So, while not everyone is going to be fan of the box, it's recognized in the car industry by design gurus that the xB is a very successful design.

It's probably never been harder to figure out how to produce hits. Take aerodynamic styling, for example. Back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, a slippery, aerodynamic look made the Ford Taurus a hit. Today, designers have sophisticated computer models and state-of-the-art wind tunnels to fine-tune the aerodynamics of a super sports car like the Corvette Z06.

But when designers come out of their wind tunnels, they find out that Toyota's Scion xB, which looks like a shoe box on wheels, is a hit.

"The Scion is something no aerodynamicist would sign up for, but a lot of young people say it's cool," says Chrysler designer Brian Nielander, whose credits include the sleek Chrysler Firepower concept super car shown at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

 

Well you gotta admit, the BMW 5series isn't exactly the most pleasing thing to look at. =)

Even though I drive a tC, I feel the need to defend xB drivers. It's like one big happy family.

 

I love the Box. And if others hate it, more power to them. That means something is right about the Box.

Does that mean I can't "hate" the pt cruiser, cause everytime I see one I just want to barf. As far as being #2 on the ugly list, I think it's great~ It is a opinion, like a a$$____ everyone has one. (me thinks the american automakers are jealous, cuz they did not think about making one of these FIRST!)
