I wouldn't do it. it makes it alot less safe. alot easier to snap the bolts that way. just a though. and to me it looks ghetto. but whatever makes the car better for you guys.

why didn't you ask in the other thread???

anyways...the amount of washers is up to you...
is .5 inch good enough or do you want 1.0 inch????

just make sure you get longer bolts. the stock ones are not long enough for this (at least they won't be safe at this lenght).
get grade 8.8 bolts for the strength.

as for this not being safe...if you get the grade 8.8 bolts this is stronger than what is stock. no worries.

I used 5 for now. Will probable end up taking a couple out, it seems a little too far back first impression.

I used 6. You have to get longer, stronger bolts for it to work right.

Agreed, grade 8 if you are going to do this.
Maybe try and hide the washers with the carpet though?

I'm fine with the level seat. I've had my fill of laying down
and hitting the clutch with my last few cars!

Don't knock it 'till you've tried it.

Yup... I had doubts until my friend did it. When I sat down it actually felt a lot better!

Someone in one of the other threads mentione wrapping the washers with electrical tape to make them less conspicuous.

I am going to try it when my box gets out of paint.

Can somone post a link to the original thread? What does this do for legroom? Because I'm 6'7'' and my knees run the center console.

I could wear an Abe Lincoln top hat and still be cool lol. I'm all legs, so it really hurts for long drives, my legs eventually go numb and fall asleep.

What this does is bring the front of seat up to support under your knees [duh]. If you've got long legs, I reccomend trying it. Hell, I reccomend it even if you don't have long legs.

It's only like 5-10 bucks for the parts. Go do it!

Be careful what bolts you use. I was told in the past that Grade 8 bolts only come in SAE sizes. When you move to metric the grade changes to something like class 8.8. A grade 8 bolt is made of high strength alloy steel. A class 8.8 is medium strength heat treated steel. Class 10.9 is high strength steel. I think there are a few more, but I still don't know how they all compare to each other or to stock bolts. If I am wrong please correct me, but I'd hate to see someones seat rip out in a crash.
