Wiper Blade size?
I noticed the outer 1.5" of my passenger blade flapping around, and before it got down to metal on glass I picked up new blades. the book said 20 or 21" (can't remember now) for both blades
so I got what it said.. but now on that same part of the blade on the passenger side the blade doesn't even touch the glass for like 6 inches toward the bottom of the window.
I have a feeling that since that piece of blade gets less wear, eventually its not the same hardness as the rest of the blade and separates.. creating the problem I mentioned above..
Has anyone tried getting a shorter blade on the passenger side to remedy this?

I replaced the arms on the front windows a few times....right now, I have 15" arms/blades and I think they look and work perfect. 17" is probably more "normal" looking, but the pass. side end closest to the side of the car does "hug" the glass correctly.
Id say buy a cheap pair of arms (I find mine a Target with the blade for $2.99/ea) and see what you like.

personally, id have the same length on both sides. the additional friction form the longer arm may cause the two to travel at diferent speeds, screwing with the synchronization. That could cause the arms to collide which would ruin the wiper motor. try it at your own risk.
The synchronization is mechanical -- the arms are connected to the same wiper motor and will always move in sync unless/until something breaks.

My dealer informed me that they no longer sell just the insert, I would have to buy the whole blade from them. Their price was not astronomical so I went ahead and did it. Mistake! The new "factory" wiper does not follow the contour of the windshield and I threw away the old ones. I should probably have purchased aftermarket inserts for the old ones instead.
I'd like to stay with same-size wipers but with blades that follow the windshield contour. Has anybody experimented with Trico Innovision, Bosch Icon or similar on their box?

Regarding Bosch and the like, no, I have never tried them mainly because they are well over $10 a piece. It rains about 2" a year where I am, so I could never spend that kind of change on some blades just to have them chatter/streak 3 months later. Truth be told, I am about ready to take off the arms all together.
