Default Word of the day...Scion!!!

This is from Merriam-Webster's Dictionary Word of the Day email:

The Word of the Day for Jun 11 is:
scion \SYE-un\ noun

1 : a detached living portion of a plant (as a bud or shoot) joined to a stock in grafting and usually supplying solely aerial parts to a graft
*2 : descendant, child; especially : a descendant of a wealthy, aristocratic, or influential family
3 : heir

Example sentence:
The scion of a family of legendary actors, Fiona was well groomed for her own show business career.

Did you know?
"Scion" derives from the Middle English "sioun" and Old French "cion," and is related to the Old English "cīth" and the Old High German "kīdi" ("sprout" or "shoot"). When it first sprouted in English in the 13th century, "scion" meant "a shoot or twig." That sense withered in horticultural contexts, but the word branched out, adding the grafting-related meaning we know today. The figurative sense, "descendant," blossomed in the 19th century, with particular reference to those who were descendants of notable families.

people will hate this, but I confess to making verses around these w.o.theday things.

this thread really belongs in off-topic; please move it if you agree.

I never did "Scion" before, except for in a verse about a scoin person here, but I could prolly make a decent verse for our cars' name.

here's a sample of making a verse -around- a subject . Off topic as hell, but if I add another input to this thread it will be a verse for SCION owners and it will be 'good' as I can do.

(few minutes, please)

Some words are reallly obscure and dull. "Scion" means nothing to regular people. But we know what it means, and it does have a good sound to it.

Here's a verse about a word no one likes unless they get called to jury duty.
Knowing my past and the law, you might not wish to -recuse- me from terming myself an innocent. I am not.

=recusant=
(means a person excused from jury duty)

Excuse me, Judge?
I don't belong
I did not do,
but I sinned long,
long ago I did
some awful thing
worse by far
than the accused

Excuse me, Judge?
I can go home?
I am recusant?
Thanks, yes, but
in honesty,
I should be stoned

Peeps: try to make a verse for "Scion" here: short, easy to get, and not heavy

Suggestion: group effort to make an acrostic of -word associattions

an acrostic spells out the subject word. In this one, let's make the first lettter
of each line be from the word, Scion. The first line will be all "S" words you associate wiith scion

The second line will be just C words you like to put to your Scion-word sensings. Get it?

It won't be a -poem- but a aimple acrostic. We can make it more trick as we go along

To start, just a rough form and pointers- you add words and we'll shuffle things around to make something hip, not lame:

S
ex, ,winging, etc. etc (put up not- lame words
C ool, risp, , etc. etc.
I tch, d, tty
O n, ff, ffend
N o, ext, inja
