That is a good question. They should have made it port installed like it is for the south east district. I was able to get it. They do sell the same kits at the parts dept. but you either need to install yourself of have someone do it for you. It works good also. Good luck with what you decide to do.

The xB is called an Urban Utility Vehicle (UUV) and was mostly designed to run around the city doing errands, driving to work or school, etc.

In the West, like your Salt Lake City or my Albuquerque, we need Cruise Control because distances are farther apart. The xB is still excellent on the highway for long road trips.

An excellent cruise control manufacturer filled this gap. Check out Rostra:

My Rostra CC is great. It was recommended by Toyota/Scion. And it was less expensive than factory CC.

Go with the Rostra. You can check out http://www.allscion.com/cruisecontrol.html Great folks. The 2006 uses different connection points for speed sensor and netural safety than the 05's and earlier. They should have the scoop on that. It took about 2 hours to put mine on.

Yeah, I've got that cruise unit on my box and it works great! Dealer installed it as an aftermarket option too.

Might have to look into that, I miss CC from the last few cars we have had that have had them, nice for the long trips to the in-laws in Palm Springs.

imo the CC install looks a bit daunting... and I didn't see anything on there about different connection points for the 06
