Default xB Engine Swap forum?

I was searching trough the site for engine swap articles and didnt come up with a whole lot. There was a lot of crap in the ones sited in the locked posts that i saw. I noticed a comment made about the topic being talked about over much. To me that would indicate a need for a swap forum.

Engine building is one thing. Pulling whole engines and transmissions is another.

Just a suggestion for something i would like to see.

I'm not sure it's talked about enough to warrant an entire forum for it (not yet anyway) - it's likely that other post was locked b/c people in that thread were probably discussing the same things that may have been in 5 other threads.

I don't know for sure though.

Swaps on the xB just aren't commonplace.

Only a few have been attempted, and even fewer were successful... supposedly the 1zz fits, but that's about all that's out there.

I am fairly sure i wasn´t the first one to come up with the idea of putting the tC engine into a first gen xB. I searched around a bit for a thread but didnt see one that really told me what i wanted. If you could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it. I dont want to go off topic here.

I refuse to buy a second gen xB, after all its just a rebadged corolla...

Why mess up an icon? Again i digress, sorry...

I don't think it's the 2nd gen xB that's a Corolla... it's really more of a tC (IMO anyway) - the xD is the Corolla of the family, I think.

You have to rework the entire front driver's side of the engine bay to fit the tc motor in there..... if a chevy 383 can fit then the 2.4 should as well.

the nightmare was because zpi was doing it...... it should not be that hard if planned out right.

1ZZ is a celica motor and in the Lotus Elise. In the Elise it is stock with 190hp and 138 ft lbs of torque

Just came across these pics and video today. This should show what is possible in the xB motor department. Where there is a will, drive, interest, things can get done. This guy kept the xB exterior stock, but that can't be said of the engine/transmission. http://good-times.webshots.com/album/561560947cKGYuN On cardomain, the guy states it is a "stroked" 350, with 450 hp. If you watch the video, notice the exhaust sound that is typical of other xB's, while his xB at idle. Hope you have as much fun watching the video as I did. It is awesome.

just cut the front end off, tube it, and get some carbon fiber, then put what ever motor you want in there. there isn't a forum on xB motor swaps, because unlike a honda, no one does it, they just talk about it... if you were seriously wanting to swap, why not look at the 4efte...

Swapping the enigne out of an xB is somewhat of a sin in that it is no longer really an xB. Owning an xB fun in and of itself. I dont have the money for a tC at the moment so i am building an old integra as a sports car.

My real motivation for putting some bad ___ engine into an xB is because i love the look on people's faces when an xB passes them.

All USA Lotus Elise and Exige get the same engine as the 2000+ Celica GTS, the 2ZZGE with VVTLi.
