I recently went thru a cruise nite and this guy yells "Holy crap, that's an ugly car!". So I yell back"Holy crap that a big mullet!". I figure that every person compliments my car whether they hate it or not. There is 15 people that love it for every one that doesn't.

solve the problem? get a full turbo set up, get some nitrous oxide, and tasteful wheels! That way you can just smoke the haters. OR just do what i do, invest in a system and when they start _____ing, turn it up!

I have always driven an air cooled VW Bus, and the xb gives off the same vibes..coolness. The hula girl looks good on the dash, and I got plenty of room to store my stuff while camping (taking it to BurningMan this year..I stay at the VW Bus Camp, If anyone is going, stop by to tie one on with me..Burningman.com).

I actually met a guy at a Scion get together here in Orlando that acted like he wanted to race my Mustang with his xB a few weeks earlier...haha...it's all good. The Scion is my wifes car...if she feels the need for power or racin we've got 2 other cars for her to drive...one of em quicker than at least 95% of street cars around.

The deal with Mustangs is that you can make em fast for little money...not jizzy rice fast, but 12 second Mustangs are a dime a dozen. 9 Second street cars are probly the most common amoung Mustangs. I really doubt people buy Mustangs to be different. They have a history behind them, look cool, cost little, and haul ___...very simple. This is not the first bias I've seen against fast cars with Scion owners. Seems like a few fellas compensate for their lack of power by doggin out other cars with their peers...

It is what it is...We just took my wifes xB to a funeral 600 miles round trip in a day. Our Jaguar gets about 18mpg, and my Mustang gets bout 7mpg...if that. I was very uncomfortable compared to the Jag, and can barely maintain a 85mph cruise, but it didn't cost me much, and it has a hell of a lot more style than anything else in it's price range. Simple.

Enjoy the car...if ya feel bad bout guys messin with you then just get a sport bike or even a (God forgive me for sayin it) Mustang for a few grand. Have fun where you can find it.

I find it amusing when people act ' hard-core ' in thier various types of cars towards the Scion. I have an example where I was cruising down the highway at the speed limit, 65 because it was closer to town, and a '98 - '02 Trans-Am sees me and goes WOT blasting past me at about 90 or so and then slows down. I laugh when that happens because it's funny how people try and 'beat' or 'take out' the Scion. Give me a break, how do you feel satisfied after dangerously one-uping a car that is not made and has 1/3 less HP. I used to have a '00 Trans-am ws6, '02 WRX, and '04 STi to name a few and I never acted like a moron. Honestly I get most of the revving civics and integras and the moving race invatation STis and Evos while I'm cruising around in my S2000. It's supercharged, but that is for my own pleasure, its not to compete with anyone and indanger myself and others.

I feel sometimes that people are looking at my xB and laughing. I don't care though, because I love my ride. Odd looking but spacious as hell on the inside.

Anyhow, got the windows blacked out today so I doubt anyone will try anything since they can't tell who's inside.

It shouldn't matter what others think. You'll always get the ricers looking to race something that has just over 100hp

The worst comment I ever got was from this Bozo coming out of Walmart. He came out, saw the Box and proceded to tell a friend that it was the biggest piece of crap he'd ever seen. Then proceded to make it over to his ride (mid 70' rustedand dented up chevy pu). In other words, consider the sorce of the insult LOL

I bought my xB for me and fo rmy own pleasure, I havn't gotten any negative feedback but if I did it wouldnt matter, they don't have to drive it and to be as shallow as ripping on another mans/womens car be it a xB or a 540i is just too funny...

in the end we will always be 7 steps ahead on looks

Hey tcm-xb, better carry some glass cleaner in the car, my bcp box always seems to have hand prints on the glass whenever i park it anywhere except at home.
the tinted glass makes them hafta block out the light with their hands to see inside.

as far as the rice boys, I havent had many bad comments, a few wise cracks but thats about it.
My best friend is always saying " I like it, but i wouldnt buy one"
This seems to be the general concensus around here in upstate ny.
enjoy your car and dont worry about the little punks.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I feel much better now.

I am in a very intense progressive rock band called PAK. Very complicated and wacky music. The worst comment I could get from a listener is "EH, it's allright". I get just as much Joy out of someone saying its the best f'in music they've ever head, as someone saying they can't stand it.

I want my music to instill either pure rage, or pure joy. Apathy is what realy gets to me!

I think this applies to the XB.

Hey, If every single car magazine (Except for that dinosaur who thought it wasn;t going to be succesfull, you know who im talking about) thinks it's awsome, I doubt it's destined to be another "VW Thing". I love the fact people think my car is ugly, Its just the real jerks who were ____ing me off, and i wanted to relate my expiriences with other drivers.

You guys are just so cuddly ;)
