Since the Focus was a great handling car (and that's all the praise I have for it - nothing else), I was apprehensive going into the box. I didn't want to give up the fun-to-drive attitude of the Focus. My apprehension quickly disappeared within the first few miles. Yes, the box is a bit buzzy, and the acceleration isn't the greatest, but it is well suited to the vehicle and I can't be happier with my choice! Everyone who drives my box is amazed at how well it handles - they see the boxy dimesions and automatically think it's top-heavy and will lean too much into corners. Boy are they wrong. Even my dad couldn't believe how well it rode, accelerated...and he can't get over the build quality for the price.
Bravo Scion!
That's funny, I also had my Ford FUKUS ZX3 for 5 years before switching to the box. Now that I am lowered on Gold-Line springs and running with 215/40/17 tires, this box handles great. Not much body roll and really sticks in the turns....

Also, that was a great and accurate reviewof the xB. For what we pay for these cars, I feel we get alot of bang for the buck. Plus modding these things is half the fun. I've got 4800 miles since March 5th 2005. I have never enjoyed driving a car as much as I do this car. Makes my hour long car ride home fun and pleasant. By the way, the seats in my FUKUS sucked, the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in. I drove to Mexico in our xB a couple weeks ago, 4 hours to get there, and the seats were extremely comfortable IMO.

I am pushing 9k miles on my xB automatic now. Stock except for cruise. 27-27mpg city, 30-33mpg hiway. Took me all most 5000 miles to get used to the punishing ride. Now I think it rides ok..........just my perpective has changed (came from Crown Victoria, Impala SS, Avalon, etc.). Only real complaints is the P/D switch works backwards and the windshield likes to crack because of the upright angle I am sure. One of the few cars that I can honestly "I like it more everyday". Plus I like any car that you don't have to jack up to do a oil and filter change. Filter is easy to change just by feel. Oh yea, my wife and kids love it so it's a keeper!

Search didn't help, and I don't have my xB yet. What is the P/D switch?
