xB roll over?
My girlfriend's old coworker decided to be nice and share some horror story by pointing out my xB and screaming "Death Trap" and then launching into a tirade about how her daughter rolled her's while avoiding a squirrel resulting in a totaled car and the daughter almost losing her arm. The story seems HIGHLY suspect but it has planted that oh-so tender seed of fear and doubt in my girly's mind.
Since there have been no NHTSA roll over test done (or published that I know about) for the xB I have no real way to waylay these fears. Has anyone else heard of such stories?
Even if true, I suppose it would be to know instead of living in denile.
Danke,

Danke,
I've seen all types of regular cars roll over. Saw a Honda Accord roll over in front of me one day while going on an exit ramp. It rolled about 3 times, became air born (rolled into a boulder), and landed on its side. Also, sports cars, SUVs, trucks, semis.... so... maybe that lady needs to live in St Louis for a few months since roll overs are a daily occurance. No car is immune from rolling over. I hope that lady doesn't drive... because if I asked her what kind of car she drove, I've probably seen one do the same thing and I could call her car a death trap.
I've only seen one rollover pic and it went into a ditch first which caused it. VSC should work to prevent rollover. Like was stated, any car can be flipped if the move is drastic enough. I never thought the xB felt top heavy in the least at stock height and will corner quite aggressively when lowered an inch or 2, despite the appearance that it wouldn't.
I refuse to go there for karmic reasons, but you can check out www.wreckedscions.com for some real world info...

from looking at the pics on wreckedscions.com not only do i see any rollovers but i'd doubt there are any near fatalities in any of them 2 look as if they could have serious injuries but they look to take beatings incredibly well

but not geese those things are very annoying!!! glad i know how to work my horn just right for 'em to get the **** out of my way
Frogs pop when you run over them.
All kidding aside, any vehicle will roll over if the conditions are right. Generally the number one thing that will cause a vehicle rollover is the drivers ability to control their vehicle in an emergency situation. I hate when SUV owners think that their four thousand pound brick will turn on a dime and they usually find out the hard way what a center of gravity is.

VSC, yes kudos to Toyota for giving us VSC because these cars are often first cars for fresh drivers.
Instance of rollover could be provoked, say on the freeway, slick, oil on road, car evades something and goes sideways slidign until it reaches dry pavement. Tires grip then and she flips.
Right, not a top heavy car in my estimation. Any van or minivan is much worse.
Darwinism always prevails as they say.
