Default ARE XB's SUV's?

Twice now I have gone to my local carwash and they tried to charge a $3 surcharge saying my XB was a SUV. Anyone else had this problem?

Most places I have seen call it a micro van . I guess you could call it a small suv.

lets think about this for a second...

S - Sport (mmmmm, MAYBE)
U - Utility (if hauling friends and subwoofers are utility)
V - Vehicle (of course, but V should stand for VAN in our case!)

they're idiots...grab a copy of the consumer report on it and keep it with you when u go to the wash...

oh, make sure to get one in spanish too...

I havent ever had this problem...but thats what I would do if I did...just so they couldn't argue with me, and so I dont lose my temper! haha...I got a bad habit of doing that when arguing with non-english speaking people...

if that dont work...dont know what to tell ya...they are clearly classified as a "micro-van"

I go to a brushless carwash that hand dries it. Both edmunds and kelly call XB's small stationwagon but that's not cool.WE need a new term for XB's any idea's?

just for the sake of convo, i use to work at an oil change place that was a lube and Wash type of place. They had one of those older washes that sent the car through a series of those blue spinning brush type things. One day i remember being curious and walking in there when there were no cars and feeling the blue brush thing.

They felt like the soft side of VELCRO!! I'll be da#med if that'll ever touch my car! Let alone slapping it like a pimp in debt!

SUV? Isn't that some kind of secret code that means that it is just an oversized station wagon that can go off road but never will? The xB isn't that much biger than a Pinto wagon inside, it just sits higher. Then again a Bronco or Supurban isn't any biger than a Caprice Clasic, or Ford Villager Wagon, or Vista Cruser Wagon form the 70's, but they also sit higher, oh yeah and with all the technical advances they also get worse mileage.

Tell your local car wash to Sod off and go get a bucket, sponge, and soap then wash it yourself. You get to keep the money, you get it washed the way you want it, and you can take a little pride in having done it yourself.

I got a Parking "invoice" once, and the metermaid put under type:SUV, so i was thinkin about fighting it. But i say, if you are taller than it, then its not an SUV. . . and as for the car washing, take yer proof of insurance, and show em what kind of coverage you got for what kinda car, and then be like, i want these prices for this. thats what i vote

Several, actually, Prototype, but at the top of the list, those who live in apartment complexes that prohibit car washing, and those who may be handicapped.

When I insured my girl's xB they classified it as the same as my tC...state farm has them all lumped together as a big scion blob of coverage or something so tell them it is a sport coupe next time you go to the wash..

I don't think you wanna have an xB labeled anything to do with 'sport'. That has gotta raise your rates.
