Default XM antenna on an Xb

I have my antenna inside on the front dash but i am hitting cold spots that I dont think I would hit if my antenna were on the out side. For those of you with XM where and how did you install the antenna?

Usually when we install these, the antennas are small enough not to just put up front centered on the roof up against the windshield. Then jsut run the wire down the weather stripping into the doorjam and into the dash again.

Chucksu that option scares me as well. Have you had any issues with the rain?

Smartass, what do you think about trying to run the wire up though the engine area, up the outside of the car (up the door jam) and to the roof.

These antenna's are made to be mounted outside. It is recommended that they are mounted on a metal surface on the highest point on the vehicle for the best reception. There is a install video at this link..............

Ive installed hundreds of there and have never once put on on the inside of the car. They are made for the outside most even are magnetic so you dont have to stick it to anything. Best place is like that pic above or centered up against the front windshield.

The antenna wire is very fragile so make sure you dont kink it when you run it.
