Default 2011 lightbulbs

Does anyone know if the bulbs used in the 2011 is the same as those used in the 2010? If I were to go buy the H11ST Sylvania Silverstars, would they be compatible? Thanks

I'd say so. I would just pop open your hood, and look at the writing on the back of the bulb. Or look in your manual.
But Don't buy the Silverstars or the silverstar ultra.
They're not too much better and a lot more money.
I had the Ultra's for a day and noticed minimal change in light output and color change

Buy h9 bulbs and cut the extra tab the h11 doesnt have. Silverstars are garbage and you can now buy a hid kit for almost the same price.

Once you have HIDs you'll never want halogen again.

The 2011 bulbs are identical to the 2008-10 models. The only differences between the two models are the front grilles, the rear bumper, and the interior modifications (telescoping wheel, armrest, etc.).

Also the gearing. I think I read that the autos and manuals of the 2011 are geared better than the 08-10s. Not sure, but this doesn't apply to this thread anyway.

Ok, so here's a stupid question. Where do I buy a good quality set of HIDs, how expensive are they, and how difficult are they to install?

I am really good at fixing almost anything electronic, but I am not very good at all with cars....

HEY!!!^^ i have bought kits from Umzita who is selling them for about 25 + shipping.

also hidextra.com sells great kits for a lil bit more. very easy to install on our cars no issue at all.

our bulbs are h11. DO IT YOU WILL LOVE It. if you want just pure light volume do 6k. 8k is a little too blue.

In order to complete the look, consider getting fog lights for the xB.

@AcidBurnISU: I have responded to your PM.

Thanks gents. I went ahead and returned the Sylvania bulbs and put myself down for a set of HIDExtra HIDs.

I didn't realize that HIDs had come down in price so much.

Do you think I will be unhappy if I get the 8k instead of the 6k? I don't want to get the 8ks and have them be less light output than my standard lights....

8k will most definitely be more output then the stock halogen bulbs, it just doesn't put out as much usable light as 6k. 6k is more white with a very small hint of blue and 8k is blue. Once you go higher than that it's pretty much just for looks because the light out put just gets worse and worse.

I have HIDextra 5000k and it looks great. It actually just has barely the slightest bit of blue tint to it when you see it from a distance, due to our projectors. From behind the wheel it looks pure white. If you're going to spend $$ on brighter headlights, go all the way with as bright as you can.
