"56K beware" is a warning for those with limited bandwidth internet connections. Means the thread contains large photos which take forever to load on dialup.
I'm glad you like the H8 mod.

IIRC the harness is the same for H8, 9, 11 and some more. It seems that stock items vary by region and store but the Autozone in Glen Burnie, MD has the harness and H8 bulbs.
thanks for the writeup! just did mine.. ordered my h8 and the harness from autolumination.com when i was ordering my g/f's replacement headlights.. took me 20 minutes to install.. i'd say it looks better but it's 90 degrees and bright sunshine outside so i can't really tell haha

a brighter reverse light?? PRICELESS
there's somethings money CAN buy.... for everything else? there's friends..
I'm planning doing a HID reverse light, I finally got around to get a timer switch... (turns one after like 1 second, protection for who has auto.. which turns on reverse light everytime you shift)
Is H8 would be best fit size?? any other size you recommend??

Thanks for the compliments guys.
H8 is the closest fit I could find. You only have to shave a little off the housing for it to fit. Are you going to run new wires for the HID? The oem wires should be fine once the HID is warmed up but I'd be a little concerned about the 150-200W draw to ignite and heat the bulb.

Worst case scenario, I can run a separate wire.
But my ballast will be fine with stock wire.

You're probably right. Although the oem wires are only good for <5A, the duration of the 10A load is very short. Probably not long enough to overheat them before the load drops to 3A. The timer is a great idea. Good luck with it and please post some pics when it's done.
