I've used that exact same stuff when I tinted my high beam and and glass fog lights on my other car (the tinted yellow parts were originally clear before). The more coats you use, the darker the yellow gets. I am just not sure if it will work on the chrome reflective housing part of the headlight. Good luck to you...
i did the exact same thing to my bmw! i've seen that pic all over the place and never noticed.
but yeah, i've used it before, even on my xa, but always on a lens. i don't want to just throw away money if i'm not sure it'll work.

gotta bump this. anyone know if this might work?

it's just rc car paint. i figure since it's going inside the housing and not really getting hit by the elements, it'll hold up. again, my fear is that it won't stick to the paint! if anyone knows let me know!

i think i'm just going to go ahead and order 2 or 3 cans of the stuff. i've actually been toying with the idea of going with an even more exotic color. a friend suggested i go with orange, and it doesn't sound like a bad idea. since the xb has that projector, i don't have to worry about the reflection coloring the light.
it if holds on to the chrome, awesome. if not, i'll just do it in black and call it a day.

nope. i have the paint ready to go but i'm getting some parts together to get painted and when i do, i'm going to have the bodyshop do the work for me. once i have it done, i promise to post up pics. it's not going to be anything extreme, but what i have planned is something i haven't seen on an xb yet.

no worries. i did test the hobby paint on an old aftermarket foglight i had lying around that had a reflective surface and the paint stuck. once it was on, it wouldn't come off until i put some thinner on it. i didn't scuff it or anything. just made sure it was dust free and started spraying and it came out great.

well, i'm waiting for my 5axis kit. once i've got that, the whole car is going into the shop for some other stuff i have planned. again, nothing huge, but something i want/need done. if i had to give a time, i'd say a month.
