Default help with warped five axis kit

so my body shop left my front lip from my five axis kit on the painting stand to long and I have two parts that are really warped out of shape. He said just leave it in the sun and it will be fine but that didn't work. I have the bad spots taped back down into shape and hope in a few days it will hold where it should be. Any tips on getting my lip back where it should be? I'm not going to deal with the shop anymore so please don't say make him pay for it or take it back. Just want some tips or if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks

pics arent really going to help all that much. Just imagine the front lip hanging over a painters saw horse and I ended up with two bulges in the center section.

if 5axis can't help just tell the body shop to pay for a new one since they f 'ed yours up. or you can try using a heat gun to get it back to shape. hope you could get that fix though good luck

I"ll try and give five axis a call tomorrow. I have to be careful with the heat gun because I don't want to bubble the paint.

Wow.... this is a tough one.
I assume the lip is already painted???
If not, use a heat gun and slowly heat it up and try to bend it back to shape.
Otherwise, I am not sure how the heat gun will affect the new paint on the kit.

That totally sucks ckd... I feel your pain because when I bought a used 5 axis front lip from a member here, it came warped and would not unwarp after being in the hot Cali sun. The solution? I had to buy a brand new front lip.

The whole point of buying a 5 Axis kit is to have a perfect fit. It would bug me like hell if I knew I had to tape it down to hide an imperfection like that. I agree with these guys, take it back and make them fix it. If they can't, make them buy you a new one.

if you dont want to bubble the paint use the heat gun on the back side of the lip so you're not heating up the paint directly and flex back into shape

isnt it urethane? wont it just conform to the bumper once you attach it? maybe im not understanding how its warped...but cant imagine it being that big of a deal... aren't they made to take this kind of abuse?

It is urethane. Not much of the kit makes contact with the stock bumper to put it back in its place. Its warped where the front lip curves down in the center where it was hanging over the painting stand out in the sun

I did try the heat gun and still have it sitting taped back into shape in the corner of the garage. I'll have to set it free and see if it holds the correct shape.

just bring it back to the shop and ask them to bake it again in the spray booth but have it stretch a little bit before baking it
or stretch it after its baked
