Default Hood dampners? good/bad?

Im looking for a set of hood dampners. Id like to hear what brand ppl are using and how theyare holding up (quailty wise, not the hood ;) haha). I know there are few brands out there like the redlines, NRG, and tein. but which one is the best. Im also looking for installed pictures. Yes Ive search but the search sucks...
thanks

I'll be getting the Redlines:

Whatever you do, don't waste your money on the eGay crap, they crimp the corners of the hood when you close it.

is your friend.
(As long as you know the hints on how to best use it.)

I had redlines on my 03 focus before I sold the car. They were on for about 4 years and I had no problems.

Cionide, thats funny, the page you posted was the only good thread when I searched.
I like the redlines but Im not sure if I want to drill into the hood. I believe thats the only thing the NRG offers over the redlines.
thanks

Here's mine...

They're not shocks, but they lock in place and I personally like the styling.

I have the redline elite. They are good quality I like them alot. The only thing is even though they help the hood to lift up you have to kinda give the hood some resistance when opening the hood or else is springs up not to hard but seems like if u dont watch it after awhile you might start to develop a crease in your fenders from the slight force of the hood opening.

U know i wish company would make a hood damper that had locking point adjustments. u know when your at shows and u dont want ur hood all the way up there would be different angle points were you would be able to lock the hood dampers in place. ive seen a couple guys use a metal rod kinda like the door opening rods people use at shows to keep the hood from opening up all the way. just a thought

I use the NRG ones that I made to fit. Back before anyone made a kit for the Gen 2. They work really well.
Like mentioned above, at the shows I use a prop rod to hold the hood partway open. When I had it all the way open at the shows, half the people did not know the hood was CF.

i have the redlines on my car- in fact if you look on their website- thats my car! lol- they fitted the protoype for my car

but they are friggen sweet- i like them alot- the way the scion hood is designed you need to kind get the hod up a quarter of the way and they do the rest- and have no problem doing so

get the redlines

damn you no limitz!!! lol, jk, i dont know how the hell you managed to get those hood dampers to work with your cf hood. I wish I could go with dampers but was told "you cant do it" with cf hood. I would love to know how they work, your hood doesnt flex or bend when trying to close the hood?
