Default how to smoke tails?

How am I going to smoke my tail lights? Any ideas?

Do I replace the whole taillight (not an option) or is there an easier way to do it?

Default Easy...

I just finished smoking out (more like blacked out) my tails yesterday. it turned out quite solid, looks good!! i used a method described by max2k in the tech section, although both what i did and what max2k did were for the 1st gen xbs. still, im sure it works the same way once you get your tail lights opened and youre able to remove the lense.
i painted the inside of the lense with VHT nightshades (check ebay).
i hope to post up a step by step explanation of the process maybe this weekend... check back later i suppose.

just use VHT on the outside and clearcoat it. Opening the tails sounds like too much work

indeed it is perhaps more work to start, but clearcoating is a very delicate process that needs a lot of attention and care to do, especially if its your first time. opening the taillights doesnt require any clearcoat and is protected from the elements. but hey, if youre a good clearcoater and you have the time, sweet!!

The one's i've seen are spray on like a paint. just make sure you dont make many coats or the red light wont get out.
