Default Official? Wash, Wax, and Detail Thread

Ok I washed the xb yesterday, yes a 100 lb. 16 year old kid in 45-50 degree weather at 10 in the morning wearing some sandals, shorts, and a t-shirt washing an xb. (im from Wisconsin) anyways i never really saw an official wash, wax, and detail thread so i am deciding to make one up. will not be much rules, all you have to do is post up what you guys use to wash, wax, and detail the xb, anything you use. ill start.
I use meguiars Gold Class car wash, meguiars cleaner wax, and meguairs Carneuba wax i got from my neighbor. i use a wash mitt, the absorber (i got from the same neighbor who traded his sw xb2 for a prius -___-) and microfiber towels also don't forget to include what you use for your wheels and tires! and please post up any tips you use to make washing time and etc. shorter and post pics because everyone here loves Pikturez! ill post pics tomorrow cuz its dark right now.

I hope this thread picks up, tell us your secrets! noa!
Ps. who can help me and tell me what to use to dry the car much quicker. Thank you

and pics of your cars after you wash! Please

I use both Meguiars and Mothers. I dry with a leaf blower, great for crevices, the grille and the wheels.

hmm a leaf blower eh? thought about that a couple times but im always scared i might accidentally blow a rock on to the car.... but i do hate the little hard water lines you get after driving the car after you wash it. you know from all the water stuck in places you cant dry? especially the license plate area and the side mirrors. oh hey the grill! i never even touch that its always soaking wet...

Yeah, use a leaf blower, you won't get those water streaks from the crevices especially the rear hatch, the side-view mirrors, fuel door, and the grille. It also helps blowing away all the debris from the radiator too, but don't get too close.

Funny thing, I was just washing my car today when this thread started up. After reading all the conditions you guys had ti deal with, I have to admit my weather conditions were abysmal: light wispy clouds, a little breeze, sun behind the house and the worst of all, the temp had to have been dipping down 5 or 6 below. So I'm out there, washing, drying (no leaf blower), and then waxing. It was physically demanding and draining. And washing and waxing the center top of the car? Pulls your shoulders out! And whats with the emblems, mirrors and grills? All they are there for is to drip water onto the spot you're about to wax (Meguiar's, thank you). But after much hard work, the car was done.

By the way,the temperature was 6 below.....
80F.

Have a nice day!!!

i wash & then wax with this...

then i wash & dry again to remove excess wax that may be on the paint. i do one coat of this glaze...

a few hours later i do one coat of this wax. best quality to price ratio wax ever!! then the next day i apply a second coat. i always let the 1st coat of wax cure about one whole day.

and when i can afford this wax, i buy it. about $90 for this bugger...but this is the best wax i have ever used

To get rid of the hard water runoff spots, just hit it up with some Meguiars Quik Detailer

Im neurotic about keeping my car clean. I wash my car 2 to 3 times a week. I've used just about everything as far as main stream cleaning products but the stuff I really love is from a brand Called VooDooRide and I use 3m clay bar.

Their detailer is amazing... it looks and feels like you waxed your car but dust doesnt stick to it like with normal wax.
