Painted roof and hood?
I remember a thread where someone posted photos of a photochoped white xB2 with a black roof/upper area. I am going to the painter today to inquire about having the hood and everything above the door panels painted Metallic Grey to go above my OEM silver. I wanted a pic to show him. If someone can find it, I appreciate the link. I just spent 30 minutes searching and couldn't find it.
Also, I found a decent sized dent in my front fender just on the quarter panel side of the hood, on the driver's side. I am going to get that priced to remove. I remember washing the car last week and leaning a tiny bit on the body work. I popped in and out real quick, thus causing the dent. A little frustrating that the metal is that thin, but all cars are now.

Painter was reluctant because it is the belief of his business that custom paint actually REDUCES value for most future buyers. He claims concerns over "was it wrecked and repainted" or not liking custom paint would distract from value. Still he quoted me $2500 for the paint job. Even though they do good work and he is including pulling EVERYTHING (engine, headliner, etc) to paint it properly, that is too much.
Also, dent is getting "massaged" out tomorrow.

I got the same thing here when I tried to get my roof painted black on my old car. I had an accident and they said they wouldnt paint it because it would reduce the value. I told him an accident doesnt help either but he said that someone else would be more than happy to take my money and do what I wanted..... wtf
