I guess I have the lingering fear of BMW drivers who stop to look at my box and say, "oh, that's an AFTERMARKET shark fin. Mwa ha ha ha."

Or random people walking by and saying, "Look at that little ricer with his AFTERMARKET fin. I'm going to put a picture of this up on www.rice-and-taters-r-us.net.biz.com (NOT A REAL WEB SITE). It's funny because you can still see the friggin' adhesive!! L O L Z OMG I AM SO COOL. I LOVE YOU BOB SAGET!!".

...But I can definitely live with it. It looks much better than the stock antenna. Oh, and I showed my girlfriend how it looks now and she doesn't like it. She says the stock antenna was better. Ha ha!

I guess it does show up a bit more on a lighter color paint. you will get used to it, and no one will notice unless you point it out. I call the xB2's stock antenna " THE *****". I hate it.

I wanted to get this but now I'm re-thinking it. I think I've grown attatched to the stock antenna.

You mean "the *****"?

the fin looks super sleak. especially if you have a rear spoiler.

Snkysnake, Did you get it installed yet? Any pictures of it on your RS6?

If you're after the stock look on a xB and want to keep it simple, leave the antenna as is. If you're one of the many owners who want to add towards the aggressive look, the Shark Fin Antenna is a great way to go.

The only cons that you really have is the thin layer of adhesive (and it's thin, provided you put down enough muscle to seal it to the roof of your box) and a slight degradation in signal quality. Honestly, I don't really listen to my radio, so the Shark Fin for me serves more of an aesthetic purpose than functionality.

I am no longer skeptical of the Shark Fin for now I strongly endorse it. :thumb's up smilie:

It really does look good, real aggressive, as you said. But how bad does the loss of signal get? There are moments when I get tired of my music ( I know) and I just switch to the radio.

Signal loss really isn't THAT bad. Basically I get pretty good radio signal around here, but the OEM antenna is much better in signal quality than the shark fin. There's just a little bit of static.

I installed mine on Wednesday , amd I love it. I haven't noticed any loss of signal. I mainly listen to XM , but my one fav FM stations (60 miles away) and an am station I listen to occasionaly (12 miles away and 5000 watts) both come in just as good as before. I'll try to get pics today, now that it's stopped raining !

Here ya go, only stopped raining for a minute, and yes, this week my little red wagon is playing at rolling advertising.
I've got a Show tomorrow, so this is a little free advertising for the Band.

I love my Shark Fin on my xD. I have had it for awhile now and get lots of compliments.

Now that I bought the wife a RS7.0 xB2, I will be adding one of these in the near future.
