Some different tailights

I decided early on that I don't really like the aftermarket options for replacement taillights that are out there and I don't like the stock reverse light at all. So I came up with an alternative option.
Only have the driver's side done at present and it isn't painted to match yet.

Parking lights on.

Brake lights / turn signals.

And reverse.

Once I get the other light done I'll be redoing the rear bumper I made a while back (you can see it off the the left on the floor) which was shortened 5", lowered 2 1/2" in the center, and had the reverse light removed. The redo will consist of making it fit with the mounting plate for my air ride that I hits now and also bringing it in another 1/2 - 1" for a smooth back end.

Looks pretty sweet...maybe you can remove the reverse light on the bumper and fill it in and probably be the only one without a reverse light in the bumper...just an idea lol.
Whoops sorry just reread the rest of your post...you already have that idea...my bad.

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I suggest that you would profit greatly if you manufactured these for us.
I love them a lot and would certainly pay big bucks for them, especially because they have reverse lights in them.

I will probably offer them up for sale at some point. I don't consider them at the level I want for mass production copies yet and I still have to build the passenger one. It would be at least 4-6 months before I would be ready for do it. I work slow.
The other thing would be for those in state with saftey inspections, these will not pass as there are no reflectors on them at all, it just screws the lines up. it's fine for me ihere in cA where we only need to get smogged, for others they would have to swap their stocks back in for inspection.

Great looking job, Greg! They look a lot nicer that the aftermarket units out there. They look like they were designed as part of the car, not something that says "look at me, I'm different from the rest of the car!" How bright are those white LEDs for seeing behind you? The Xb2 is not blessed with good rear vision and the stock reverse light help little on seeing the passenger side of the car when backing up. BTW, where did your get your LEDs from?

I got the led strips from http://www.bigrigchromeshop.com/ The reds are 9" strips, the white is a 12" strip. Fun thing I noticed last night was the stock 3rd brake light is 9" long as well.
Wow, those look amazing!! I definitely would want a pair of those on mine... Only thing is, I think I would look silly having the stock reverse light as well as the ones in the taillights. But those babys look sick!!!!!

Thanks guys. I've finally got this one down so that all the body line match up perfectly. I'm hoping to do some work on the other side building it soon.
You're right it does look silly witht eh stock light, at least if they are on. That why my spare bumper cover doesn't have one.
