Default tow hooks.

i was just wondering. the two square caps on the front bumper of the xb2, can they be removed and can tow hooks be put in? i saw a tc that had a tow hook in its bumper and they had the same cap except round. the only tow hook ive seen was the bomex lip tow hook but that goes under the bumper. any info?

Theres a tow hook in your trunk next to the jack. I wouldn't drive around with it in though. In an accident, it could ____ things up big time.

Yeah plus it would be an eye sore seeing those poking out of the bumper...that's why people on here have made/bought more cosmetically appealing tow hooks.

Check out where people on here have put their custom tow hooks. They just use 2 existing bolts under the bumper.

Its made for the stock tow hook, the one in the trunk next to the jack.
You screw it in when you get into a jam, take it out when you're not. If you leave it in, you could cause major problems if you happened to hit another car or pedestrian. Most modern cars are designed to minimize damage to pedestrians. A tow hook might bust their leg in half.

Do you have a picture of said hooks?
I think most aftermarket hooks are a flat piece of metal that bolts onto a flat surface, say a frame rail.

those hooks are mainly for looks. Thats why they bolt up with 2 little bolts. I wouldnt recommend towing with them cuz they can break off. Then u F'ed.

The stock one is a big hunk of metal that threads in front and is made for towing or what not.

Yeah those are mainly cosmetic so the car is "JDM tyte yo" lol.
But yeah, if you left a tow hook in your front bumper (oem location) just think of how much more damage could be done if you were in a collision...

You could just get those cosmetic tow hooks, then make your own mounts for them down at the bottom of the bumper.
