i will probably take them off and replace it with another grill piece. might look into taking the the foglights out and finding another set of lights to fit in the foglight surround piece.

these lights are low to the ground on the front of your car

what did you expect?

lots of people had this issue on the tC fogs, which are the same thing (yes, the ones from the factory)

my new grill since my ebay fogs both cracked after a week and a half of use. the dark spots are heat spots when cut. will polish out soon.

yup, now i have BOTH busted foglights. be warned about buying these on ebay. there goes $94 down the drain, first had to modify the foglights because a metal bracket broke on both lights, next the switch breaks apart when attaching the harness, then driver side cracks last week, and today the passenger side breaks and ive only had these foglights for about 3 weeks

did you use the bulbs that came with these lights or did you replace them with a brighter bulb? i see where you said something about having some kind of hid bulbs? do you think the heat off the bulb could have cracked the lens? its hard to believe that both of your lights cracked from rocks within a weeks time. i would think your whole front end would be chipped off if you were driving somewhere where that many rocks were hitting the front of your car.

Sorry to bump an old topic but I been reading this forums for awhile now and here's my first contribution.

I been researching for a cheap factory foglights alternative and I found this thread. Downside to the ebay kit is the fog light switch. My dealer that I usually buy my parts from was very helpful enough to so some research and got me the factory foglight switch.

Here's the part number for those who needs it.

84160-12060 - I think it list for $56 bucks.

Thanks again to Norwalk Toyota!

^^ all i did was strip some of the wire shielding and then wrapped the wire and tapped it with electric tape.

from the first page:

the generic switch has 3 wires, the factory switch has 4 wires. the white wire is the wire that will turn on the foglights. the gray is a ground wire. the far right wire is the headlight wire, this will make the foglights come on with the headlights. i have it wired like this for now until i have time to tap into the parking light wire. i would wire the switch to the chassis ground separate from the switch. now when they are on, the foglght light on the dash will come on by the headlight light when turned on.

The ebay switch is wacky alright. If the switch is off when I turn on the headlites, the fogs stay off. If I turn the switch off with the headlites on, the fogs stay on. The lite in the switch goes on with the headlites and off when I turn on the fogs. The fogs even stay on with the hi-beams too but will not come on with the parking lites unless I re-wire them.

Aside from the ____ty switch, the fog lamps fit well, look good and work well. Hopefully mine won't crack since they are hidden behind my Fig grill for protection.

I also have attempted a very economical approach to installing these hot items. Bought some twisty ties and a 20-something dollar kit from Wal*mart. It came out pretty decent looking and turned on just fine. My ONLY problem: I don't know how to run the wiring including the switch through the car's "firewall" and into the interior panel. Had I known how to do that, I would be driving around with a under $30 set of foglights right now.

Could anyone help me at all in regards to running wires through our xB2's firewall? I understand that it may involve drilling and such, but any simple yet detailed walkthrough (with pictures, or not) would be indescribably appreciated!

Thanks!

Oh! And a DIY on which wires goes with what to make the fogs come on with the parking lights would also be awesome!
