Maybe this is a stupid question, but what exactly does this pulley actually do, and why does the one you installed work better than the stock one? (I am trying really hard to learn these things)

from what i have learned acid. IS that the pulley is much lighter allowing for the engine to pull faster. It wont add a ton of speed or power. but the car will accelerate much easier which means quicker acceleartion in the lower RPM range. Hopefully someone can correct me if wrong. there are a couple threads on this around here. and if u ask the NST guys he can talk directly with you!

Very similar to a lightweight flywheel from a performance aspect. Freeing up rotational mass directly attached to the crank allows extremely fast revving, and frees up quite a few ponies.

Can't wait to put mine on this weekend!

There is another brand that I forgot the name of. They don't have a big selection.

Then there is one that someone sells with a TB spacer.

Out of all of them, I heard NST was the highest quality product out there for a good price. When I installed it, it looked and felt like a quality product.
I have the last one ur talking about. Its from House of Billet, however you do not have to buy the TB Spacer with it. Fastscions.com let him know Dustin with the XB2 Sent you, he will give you a discount.
