bad oil pan

I'm with Pyro, something had to happen to the pan or the threads for the drain plug have been cross-threaded. Either way it's an easy fix, just order a new pan and replace it. I would try to find out what happened though.

Do you take it in for oil changes (i.e. Dealer or Jiffy Lube) or do it yourself? Do you keep records of service if you take it in? If you take it somewhere and can show records you may be able to get them to cover it

One thing I've always wanted to be made for the xB was a stainless steel lower splash shield to replace the flimsy plastic one we have.

I've never had an issue with coming even close to my oil pan... don't know what you guys are doing wrong.
I don't see a 'Panzer Plate' being necessary unless you're driving over land mines.

I would like something like the Panzer Plate that is available for VWs.

i busted a 2inch hole in my lowered tc2 oil pan, hit a rock one night. id like to see some sort of undercariage protection made for the tcs. if youre lowered its def a must have. lots of unexpected road hazzards.
