Default CAI are they Loud?

I am thinking of getting a TRD or other intake mod, and wondering how loud they are, assuming no other mods?

Will it just help me hear the engine better for shifting, or will it be totally annoying and make it difficult to have a conversation with my passenger?

I have a Fujita CAI. They are not loud when you drive normally. The only time that I hear mine is if I stomp on it. Even then it is more of a growl, rather than a very "loud" noise. For daily driving I never even notice it. As far as talking over it. It gets loud around 4k rpm(with wide open throttle), but you can hear your passengers just fine. Hope this helps.

He's right, CAI aren't really loud at all...Short Rams will give a more audible noise. Regardless of which one you choose (CAI or SRI) youre NEVER going to have a problem hearing your passenger.

just get it, your gonna love it. and it does add a nice "growl" once you get in that power band or sweetspot some like to cal it. i would go with either AEM cai or Weapon-R. theyre pretty much the best 2 out there. i wish Weapon-R made a cold air intake for our xb2
