Default cars dead

went to start it yesterday and i just heard the starter clicking...then after a few tries nothing and it seemed as if the battery was dead (lights dead, power things not working)...tried a jump same problems...put in a fresh battery fully charged and same starter clicking and no start...

had to push start it to get it to the dealer and it would not stay idle while driving there...died as soon as i took my foot of the gas...

has anyone encountered anything like this?

luckily im under extended warranty and its at the dealer but im hoping for a quick turn around and anything i can do to get my ride back would be good...

(no loaner yet and not sure when ill be able to get one)

thanks for any help

How fresh and fully charged was that new battery? Some auto parts places don't rotate their battery stock or maintain it as they should. I've bought and sold discharged batteries before.

If not the battery I'd guess it's the ground cable. I noticed that mine had a lot of oxidation at the chassis connection so I replaced it.

Sorry for your trouble and good luck.

:D forgot to check back :D

it was the ground cable...apparently our car only has one...that i was able to find...cost me 100 diagnostic fee for this lesson :p but now i have added an additional ground cable from the battery...

oh and this was all my fault as i recently moved the ground cable back and forth between two spots :p doh!

Live and learn... I'm glad you got it fixed and that it wasn't more serious.
