The engineers did have a good reason for adding balance shafts. They did it to reduce the amount of engine vibration felt by the car's occupants. Removing the balance shafts should be safer than replacing the harmonic dampening oem crank pulley with an aftermarket lightweight solid pulley.

There are many who argue that the rubber damper in the oem pulley dampens undesireable crankshaft harmonics that could lead to reduced bearing life, seal or even crank failure. After hearing the arguments from both sides, I elected to get a NST pulley anyway. I agree with the anti-pulley crowd about the theoretical benefits of a harmonic damper but disagree with them about the severity of the risk after removing it. Time will tell...

Yeah I had one on my tc for about 20K+ hard miles with no problems. I think its ok on our cars.

Thats great to know...hmmm I wonder what I'm getting? I'm sure Im up there too...

My set up;
Cold Air >W-R HEaders > W-R S-pipe > Scuba delete and Tanabe all on 2.5 piping...

Can any one recommend a place in (So CAl) to get dynode?
