Default How does Toyota conduct the oil consumption test?

How many miles have to be put on the car during the testing period?
Does anyone have a link to all the details related to this test?

Thanks

For the test they perform an oil change at your expense, seal your oil cap, dipstick, oil pan with a void seal, you drive the car between 1100-1300 miles, if you burn more then 1 quart in this period your vehicle is eligible for repairs under warranty.

I have changed my own oil and always use the same brand and weight of synthetic oil since I bought my box. Will the dealership use their junk recycled oil or use what I put in it? Every oil company adds their own secret amount of additives and conditioners to their oil. So mixing brands can be harmful to my engine. Also will they allow me to watch them fill it? Because it would be very easy for them to overfill and put their void seals on it so when I come back they can say I did lose that much. It's actually unbelievable that toyota is saying losing a quart of oil every 1100-1300 miles is acceptable. So if I change my oil and filter at every 5000 miles, it's normal to have also added another 4 quarts between changes? It costs $29 just for my oil I use and now I have pay another $29 to buy more oil. My tacoma prerunner with 260000 original miles doesn't even consume oil like that. After buying my first toyota I have been hooked and haven't strayed since but this is making me think about looking into the new Chevy Colorado.
