Nevermind my rant... wasting a ton of money and time on the FIC and X1 has left me jaded regarding piggybacks. However, although my no-piggy setup works great for 6 psi, it wouldn't work for you or anyone else wanting more than ~275bhp on 93 octane only.
Anyway, best of luck with the tuning! Be sure to let me know when it's time to change my sig.

i wanted to hear the bov! lol
It sounds good and shoud be quicker than mine but I'm gonna need to see a time slip before changing my sig.
The last time I went to the strip there was a 350whp TC there running high 14's due to wheelspin.
the nice fkin thing is this auto shifts so smooth it limits the wheel spin between gears and holds psi. Got a set of 4 new tires on there, however i still loose a bit of traction not on launch but 1st to 2nd gear shift (5000+ rpms) otherwise surprisingly it stays on the ground very good.
I totally understand also fred, this was just more a progress video its getting there.
Michael i have silent bov, its the HKS and i have it going back into the intake pipe. I like quiet bov (cops and such). 3" screams a bit loud along with the open wastegate maybe have to put some resonators in and connect the bov to down pipe i like stealth =P
also still got 7 psi to add =P
It seems keeping the TRD CAI is getting me a lot more power than expected compared to the right under the hood filter, so overall with the cams pretty damn impressed. Still have some work to do.

Yup, there are a lot of benefits to a auto trans for drag racing, strip or street. The torque multiplication, hydraulic drivetrain cushion and sustained boost between shifts translate to better launches, less wheelspin, less broken drivetrain bits and much more consistent et's. I'm more than happy with boosted slushbox box.
Stealth BOV FTW! Making noise is for ricers, going faster than anyone expects is where it's at.

Your not selling yours off are you Fred? Did you get a different exhaust / intake setup?

but i know what you mean. haha

Nah, those are just extra parts I'm selling. I was thinking about selling the XB and getting something new but I can't find a car I really want in my price range. The only cars that come close are the GTI and GLI. The rest cost too much.Originally Posted by ThatGuyAtGeweke

I like a loud BOV too but IMO stealth is better for the XB. I mean who would ever expect a fast auto XB? Plus you won't get the same BOV sound from a auto anyway.Originally Posted by r2d2michael

Really good place for the air fuel

Not sure if this is out of your price range, but I was looking into buying a Volvo C30. They ride incredible and come boosted with the same power as your xB set up. Plus you can get a power package from a company called Elevate that will give you even more boost for a reasonable price (with Elevate, car puts down about 270whp on a five-speed automatic without the need for a built-up transmission like our xBs would).Originally Posted by ScionFred

Volvo C30 ~ 24,000. I figured that I've driven American, Japanese, and Korean... so I might as well try the Swedes. I'm just not sure if I'm ready to sell my car yet. It's only been 3 years.
all i can say is nothing will last as long as your scion, or that 2az motor. Bullet proofola =) I work for toyota for a reason, i can only deal with the best.
The C30 is a very nice car but optioned the way I'd want it would cost $30k, it's 1 full second slower in the 1/4 mile than my XB and the GTI is better in every way for the same or less money. OTOH, what keeps me from buying a GTI with it's wonderful DSG trans is the commonness of it. At least the C30 is not so commonplace.
I'm waiting to see how the FRS, BRZ, Focus ST, 2013 Fusion and Dart turn out.

I guess the main benefit from doing a manual swap (vs building the auto) would be having an lsd, vs an open diff in the auto.
I'm not sure how much it costs to build an auto to hold that much power, but my manual swap (parts and labor) came out around 2k.

something to think about though you dont have surge in a auto like you have in a manual, it keeps boost, and the torque converter smooths power distribution dont have the jumps as a manual would have so have not had much of an issue at all. Level ten did a goooood job.Originally Posted by Roller_Toaster

I can only smile and giggle about this. Sooooo gnarly. I love it.

I thought I remembered the auto guys saying they had to let off the throttle between shifts in the autos, or they would damage the tranny? Wouldn't letting off the throttle cause you to lose boost?Originally Posted by ThatGuyAtGeweke

Either way, a 250+ hp xb is amazing :D
yah, but who is running a stock auto? does this look like there is any issues with shifting? Fully built auto from Level Ten including torque conv and valve body.
we started at 10 psi when you hear me say holy ____ thats 15 as are the remaining runs

IIRC most of them said they had to lift to get the trans to up-shift. I had similar problems with the FIC and X1 screwing up the ECU load calculations but none without a piggy. One of the things that a piggy does is to reduce the MAF volume sent to the ECU to compensate for larger injs and to prevent CELs. Unfortunately this also alters the engine load calculated by the ECU so it doesn't know when to up-shift.
To Dustin: It sounds like you're bouncing on the rev-limiter on every up-shift? That will cost you a few tenths...
Other than that it sounds great!
