Default Remove charcoal filter on TRD CAI?

Serves no purpose for me, as I'm not worried about Carb. Do you think it effects the design either way (neg or pos). Seems like to me it disrupts air flow and speed, but maybe its not enough to worry about.

Getting ready to head home and install this puppy now.

why not just put on a conical air filter it while you're at it anyway?

Because I like the TRD setup as is. Just wondering if I should yank the charcoal filter, if it has any impact on air flow.

Thanks for the answer...

Are you talking about the bypass valve? If you are thats so water doesn't get sucked up into your engine. Don't worry its not robbing you of your oh so valuable 1-2hp.

Bypass valve? The two of you must be smoking crack together.

Its the same charcoal filter that many of us had removed from the stock box, and I removed it from the TRD CAI too.

It is NOTHING more than CARB requirements.

Now you're gonna get a CEL because it had a sensor...

Just kidding, I don't think it'll have a negative effect, just another obstacle to positivity?

Yea, you can pull it if you want. It certainly appears like it would impede flow. It's an emissions thing, so if you're not in a state where they'd notice that, go for it.

Is that the charcoal filter that captures the gasoline fumes from excaping and holds onto them until you start the car again? Leave it in or you polute the air more . . . it is there for all of us to breath better, cleaner air. I hope you don't think you are smarter than the engineers that put it in there for a good reason?
