wandering if anyone has a custom side exhaust on the xb2. Iv seen them on the 1st gen and look prety sweet.

Iv been thinking of getting a kit of mandrel bent pipes and custom fab one. just havent decided on tips yet.

Has anyone done this?

 

Havent seen it on a 2 yet but itd be pretty dope if done nicely!

 

Clean looking yepp... but after a while it gets kind a annoying due to the noise being closer to you...

 

I have thought about this as well...I have the scuba replaced with a resonator, so if I did a side exit I would probably want to replace that resonator with a muffler otherwise it would be too loud.

 

Yeah, my idea is to unbolt the exhaust from as far forward as possible,find a flange so i can make the new exhaust a bolt on. Unbolt old pipes, put on a single in dual out muffler, thinkin cherry bombs new muffler they have not the glass pack, and get a set of stainless or so bends and start welding. find some sleek rectangle or oval tips. it be some old school sexiness.

 

I was thinking a pair of the low profile rectangular tips would be pretty sweet. Tuck up up close to the rocker that would be awesome.

 

Do eet! I don't see anyone else who has done this so it would be different.

Man I wanted to do a side exchaust LOL!!! I still am but don't know what I am goign to use for the side pipes.

 

Look at post #8, I put just an ebay link in the post, that takes you directly to that exhaust tip.

 

I know that feeling. Iv been thinking none stop on this. Do i want a full pipe down the side? Or do i just want a tip out the side? I think im going with the Tips in front of the rear tire. If i ever got a body kit i couldnt use the side pipes so id have to change anyway.

Hopeing to do this next week or so, still have to order the pipe. I will post up pics when im down.
