Default Weapon R Header + S Pipe help

So I installed my new Weapon R header & s-pipe yesterday, and as I drove off, I hear an exhaust leak. I'm guessing its coming from where the header mates to the s-pipe and that donut gasket. I used the gasket and spring bolts that were supplied by Weapon R. There are no stops on these bolts so when everything is tight it completely compresses the springs (which seems to defeat the purpose).

Has anyone with this setup had a similar problem? Any advice is welcome.

Hopefully you get this figured out. That header looks nice!

DO NOT, completely compress the springs. By all means use the supplied springs, but only compress them roughly half way. Much more only has the effect of disabling the spring action. It's important to allow the engine to rock without being locked to the exhaust, and the springs provide for that.

I'll try backing off the bolts a bit after work today.

So on second look, it turns out to be leaking from where the s-pipe mates with the resonator (or scuba, or whatever). I tried cranking on the nuts/bolts some more, no luck. I took the metal o-ring type gasket from the stock s-pipe and put it between the resonator and the WR gasket, thinking that was what I screwed up, but still no luck.

I guess tomorrow I'll try just using the stock gasket alone. I can only crawl around on the parking lot floor for so long.

You may need to pick up an after market 2.5" oval two bolt gasket, and it may require a little adjustment to fit the "scuba" bolt holes, but it'll definitely work -- did it myself !
