Wasn't too bad, took me a minute to figure out where the mounting bracket went, because they don't give pics. Took much longer to get the ol TRD CAI out.

 

R u gonna sell the TRD unit?

 

Ive got it in the classifieds, one person interested. I have everything but the TRD bumper vent, I traded mine with AAG for his OEM cover.

Also have a spare, brand new panel filter for the TRD.

 

Where are u located, send me^^ a pm. I might be interested. Why did u change out?

 

No oil either, love it. Just wash every 5k miles.

Also to note, the sound of this thing is nice. It reminds me an 08 Jetta rental I had. Not to loud unless you give it medium throttle, then it has a nice, low, growl to it.

 

Why switch from a cold air intake to a hot air intake?

BTW, what kind of filter media does WR use? Woven polyester like AEM or open cell foam?

 

Since moving back to Mobile, I now drive thru a lot of water and dust at work. The TRD filter was trashed in under 10k miles, and Im just not interested in cleaning and oiling that often, especially dealing with the bumper.

The Weapon-R is easy to clean, and is a foam type.

 

A necessary compromise then, understood. I hope this works better for you.

 

Yeah, I figure I stand to lose a few ponies, but I'm going more the look route now. It's still got pep and sounds pretty good. Plus looks pretty cool when the hoods up.
