No such thing. Toyota ECUs are notoriously difficult to crack. Best you can do is a piggyback unit to trick the stock ECU like UNICHIP or AEMs FI/C.

 

Greg, You seem to be the man when it comes to these things. All the threads I look at have your finger prints.

I have added dual exhaust. I plan to add a K&N intake and filter and light weight crank pulley. Is the Unichip worth the 4 bills to make these small mods sing?

I also plan on the stage 2 frame kit you sent me in addition to the Hotchkis sway bars.

Mine is a 5 speed daily driver and I just want a fun, quick, good handling toy car. Not racing it, just for me.

I had the Unichip at one point and it did add a little more low end grunt to the ride, but I don't think it's worth the price of buying one new. I got mine on a Black Friday sale for $300 and you can find them in the for sale section of the forum for that or less sometimes. The one thing I do not like about it is that you cannot program it yourself, you have to send it in for them to program it. On the flip side it is a simple install, completely plug n play.

They have successfully re-flashed the Toyota Denso ECU that is used in the 2AZ-FE.

Here is my Dyno sheets comparing the OEM ECU vs. the OVTuned ECU.
There's a nice 22WHP and 27ftlbs of TQ+ gain at 4000RPM and almost a 25WHP gain at 5500RPM.




Base line dyno run was 154.6WHP and 153.78ftlbs on the stock ECU.
After the OVTuned ECU. My best run was a 168.13WHP and 172.13ftlbs of torque.

I should add that I have decided to go the way of Orange Virus Tuning after having seen MasterZ's results with it. Just waiting on my spare engine to be finished before I start.
