Default Intake Questions

Hey Guy,

I installed my first performance mod last weekend (Fujita Intake). I love the way it sounds and I can feel a small amount of difference in power. My question is this...Is it normal to lose fuel economy? from what the car says Im down 4.5 mpg. Is that normal?

It all depends on your driving habits.

while driving habits play a major role in it, you can still lose fuel efficiency solely off any new intake. increased amount of air should technically increase the amount of fuel, so as to keep a stable ratio (not saying the ratio will change, because your computer will eventually be able to reset itself to use its own ratio, say 3 parts air to 1 part fuel for example). but the fact is, youre still increasing air volume, so your fuel consumption will go up.

lol you dont really have to worry about a MAJOR drop in fuel economy. its not going to affect it that much. if you start dropping by more than 2 mpg then youre foot is having too much fun

Did you reset the ecu and let the car idle for about 5 mins after installing the intake?

while that will allow the computer to more efficiently process the new volume of air, and set a new ratio quicker, the point is the ratio will eventually be reset to the standard down the line. but none the less, anything to help your car adjust quicker is always a good idea. so it is a good idea to reset the ecu. and it's easy :D

Disconnect the battery, go in your car, hold the brake for 20 seconds, go back and reconnect the battery, and voila! computer reset

hey guys the intake sounds good and it feels good to I installed the Tenzo R CAI because the price was good $119.00 and no shipping I was able to pick up the same day since it's just around the corner from work =0) I bought it from next level.....
so far so good gas i've noticed I am wasting a bit faster but maybe that's just because i've been testing it out.......lol
i've keep in touch, thanks.
