Default Turbo

So i was looking at ebay motors and i came across an eletric turbo that fits over ur cai or sai. Uses an electrical motor to run a fan and increase air flow. Has anyone tried or heard of this? Recomend? My though is it would restric airflow if motor is not on.

so pretty much ur air flow is limited by the speed of the fan... could be more than what ur getting, could be less.... but those are NOT turbo lol... those are just plain crap

As soon as you start driving the air your engine sucks in outflows what that fan can do then it becomes a restriction. Plus who thinks it is a good idea to put a piece of chinese plastic with small parts right in front of your throttle body? Pistons and valves don't like chinese plastic, you should not either! lol

Well its actually free flowing but i guess adding an object in the path of the reduces flow and with the does just increases airflow could stay on or off ive seen people dyno their cars and add a leaf blower to their intake and increases hp and torque dramatically like a reall turbo but i guess ur right ur running a risk of damage to engine if a part breaks off or something

Short, polite answer:

Ditch the idea. It doesn't work. This thread is embarassing.

Nope. I highly doubt this was the case if there was an increase in power. If the increase was small, it could be due to dyno inconsistencies.

maybe you should do the leaf blower mod, basically the same but cheaper if you have one laying around. For moaaar powa add the dude holding the bottle mod.

You should do some more research before asking questions that are this common.

Throttle body spacers are generally useless for our cars, and probably for all fuel injected cars, but you'll have the occasional person saying it helped, when in reality it's just placebo due to sound or the fact that you wasted money buying the part.
