Default Baller on a Budget...

I am rookie when it comes to car audio. So my question is this i have a Pioneer 760 watt 2-channel amp and want to pair it with two of these Pioneer 10's... I am going to do a stealth box in the trunk.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...eer-_-82117146

Do you think i will have enough air space in the box for two of these or just one? I dont want to remove my spare either... and i am not looking for monster bass just some good lows and mids...

Thanks in advance

i tried making a box with my 10" infinity without removing the spare
it sounded pretty flat and bad
i ended up taking the tire out and building a mdf box it sounds alot better
not as good as my $110 vented box i had b4 but sounds pretty good
so if you wanna go stealth ur gona have to ditch the spare for decent bass

you need 1.3 cubic feet of airspace for a sealed enclosure to hold both of these - 0.65 cubic feet each accourding to the specs provided on the site you posted. I dunno know if you will have enough room to do a stealth box for 2, as I dont know how much space is in the back of the gen 2, but it's easy to calculate, measure the area, then muiltiply leangth x width x height ( remember to minus out the thickness of the wood you intend to use for the box ) then divide that total number by 1728. that will get your your max allowable airspace in the area you intend to fit the box.
If you want to go ported then you are going to need a box that has 1.25 cubic feet of airspace per each woofer, then cut the ports to the same leangth, depending on how you want to have the box tuned.

one thing i did notice is that these 10's need an average wattage of 350 and a max of 1000 each @ 4 ohm.
you may want to double check the amp rating, and see if you wont be under driving them. usually the posted amp wattage is the max rating, and not the average.. is that 760 watts for 2 channels combined or is it 760 watts for each channel seperately? if it is 760 max watts for 2 channels combined that means that max watts for 1 channel would be about 350-370 watts, with an average power of about 1/2 the max watts = underdriving the speaker = amp is gonna blow soon...
granted i am not a audio pro, but i have built a few systems over the years and have picked up a few tid bits here and there.
powering 1 10 properly will sound better then powering 2 imporpperly, and will be easier to hide in a stealth setup, but again i am no pro and i dont do this work for a living. best to let the experts on here chime in and correct any of my mistakes

Not sure what you mean by "trunk" or "air space in the box".

There is a lot of space under the hatch floor with the spare flipped over. Enough for one of these sub anyway. I bought an 8mm x 1.25mm (pitch) bolt and matching wing nut/washers to hold the spare "upside down".

Your problem is going to be depth, not airspace.

You should consider these:

The single 13k (12" sub) is going to be better than that Pioneer and they're on sale for $50.

Would it matter if i went with a slim fit sub... or what if i filled the box with poly fill?

Its 760 watts Max for both channels combined i think.. So 360 max each... prob around 180 or less RMS each. I was thinking about bridging the amp (which i dont really know how to do) so i can get around 350 RMS one channel...

with such a low watt sub set up will i or should i get a capacitor also?

Thanks again...

capacitors are a waste PERIOD, doesnt matter how muchpower you run, and you should be fine running that amp, just make sure you run large enough wire and a good solid ground

that amp will do like 380watts bridged @ 4 ohms.. if you are running two subs get two DVC 4 ohm subs.. that way you can wires them in series/parallel to get 4 ohms and then you can bridge your amp.. then you'll get 190w to each sub.. otherwise going with to SVC 4 ohm subs you'll get 120w to each sub

Ok so i bought the eD 13Kv.2 D4 sub and i have the amp... I am going to build my own stealth box because i want to retain the spare tire... I figure if i flip the spare over and build the box so the sub sits inside the spare i should have enough room...

does the inside angle of the box walls make a big difference is sound quality?
