Default Complete Dash Kit

What do you think?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2008-...spagenameZWDVW

What would be the best color/look for the 08' XB interior?
Black Carbon Fiber, Gun-Metal Carbon Fiber or Brushed Aluminum?

Personally... I want the Brushed Aluminum, as the Gun-Metal Carbon Fiber is just too shiney and the Black Carbon Fiber is well... BLACK and so is the rest of the dash!

I saw that auction and it got me sort of interested too. I like the brushed aluminum the best too. I'd like to see it installed though because with all those pieces it might end up looking a little tacky. Might be overkill...

Yeah... I sent the seller a question in regards to just that.
I told him that I was interested in the kit, but wanted to see how it looks first.
As far as over-kill. You always have the option to not apply particular pieces.

I did that to my VW, it was quite nice in the brushed aluminum I chose.

I am pretty sure I actually saw this kit installed on a dealer demo car when I went to pickup my B. it definitely caught my eye and I found it appealing...at first.

I looked at it again a couple weeks later when I picked up my tag and had a chance to examine it more closely. Overall, its nice - I will say that. But in one aspect the more I looked at it the "cheaper" it looked.

The pieces are about an 1/8th of an inch thick - maybe a little more. They get close to the edges of all the pieces they cover but you can definitely tell they are simply stuck on top of something. They look "rubbery" (if that is even a word) because of the clear coat being so thick.

Overall - as with every custom item...to each their own. The quality of the kit did look nice and the pieces were definitely secure but after the first glance it quickly lost its appeal. I was seriously interested in it since I want to do something like this but I think I am leaning towards the PatternTek option. That is significantly more expensive than this option so it may not appeal to everyone or even be an option.

Just my $.02

Quick edit - To clarify it was the Gun-metal carbon fiber kit they installed. Another pattern may look better. They had all the pieces installed and it was WAY overkill.

These are overlay kits they are not molded replacements. I've had them on other car and they, if you get the right one, looks good over the stock interior.

Heres some pricing in case anyone was wondering. We are no doubt a step up from stick on. And we offer OEM paint code matches. No Rattle cans here, we use Automotive Spray guns.
