Dashboard mounting
Hey all,
So I recently purchased a 2011 Scion xB Manual. Car is really awesome. Completely stock. Anyhow, having a lot of trouble trying to mount things on the dash and around the console.
Nothing really sticks, if I am lucky, a day or two MAX. I used alcohol and host of other cleaners to remove any dirt and oils. But nothing works.
I want to mount several things in different places such as phone holder, compass, at least two cameras change holder, and a Power Extender for USB and lighter.
Any advice? I have different ideas, but, none do I want to mess with til I get some advice.
Thanks all
M

Depending on what was used on the dash prior to you getting it you might need to get some adhesion promoter to get the tape to stick properly. Also if you aren't already using it get some 3M red double sided tape, it hold better than most anything else out there.
Also for USB you can pick up a dual outlet USB port that will fit in the blank next to the shifter, it'll save you from having to mount external ones. Like this; https://www.ebay.com/itm/MICTUNING-D...gAAOSw92NZcdIL

I have all my Cords Professionally Installed Inline to the Power Source to avoid dangling cords. I also use 3M red double sided tape for my Dash Mounting Disks
after through cleaning of the surface with alcohol (Windshield Mounts are Illegal in CA and MN). Some adhesion promoter suggested by GregS is also a good idea.
Also use:

So, it should work for you.
The Specific Ones I use are $2.00 more:
There are Others, some have a Longer Neck, if you want it to protrude out More towards you. Such as:
I have Not Try the Last 2 Links but, they say Universal and should work.
